We can’t believe that 2019 is already coming to an end, we have had a great year working with clients both old and new on some fantastic projects. We wanted to use this time to reflect on the highlights and say thank you to everyone who has helped us along the way.
This year we have worked with Royal Free Charity, an organisation that supports all Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust patients and staff to have the best experience while using the NHS services. They required us to refurbish Graseby House into their new office space and accommodation for training nurses.
The first phase consisted of refurbishing the 10,000 sq ft ground floor of the building into a large office space. The works included air conditioning, ventilation and air recycling installation and computer data installation. We also installed energy efficient LED lighting into the whole building.
The second phase consisted of refurbishing the rest of the building into 64 self-contained studio apartments for key healthcare workers for the Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust. The works included a full refurbishment and installing a new access lift.
Everyone involved in this project has worked extremely hard and we are due to finish this job and hand it back over to the client within the next couple of months.
We converted the former minor injuries unit into a new bespoke would clinic focusing on bariatric patients. Funded by NHS Canterbury & Coastal CCG, the completed project provides a further 3 new treatment rooms which will be utilised by NHS Property Service as new ‘bookable space’, enabling healthcare service providers a greater level of flexibility when serving patients from the Walmer Castle Deal Kent.
We delivered this refurbishment within a live hospital environment which consisted of a full demolitions and installation of 9 wards, 3 consultation rooms and a reception area.
Dorothy House Gym
Dorothy House is a fantastic charity which provides compassionate care and support to people in Wiltshire and Somerset. Therefore, when working on the refurbishment of the gym at Winsley Hospice we wanted to make sure that it was done to the highest standard for all the patients to enjoy.
The client needed additional space in the gym to allow more room for each individual piece of equipment. We have been able to refurbish the room to provide a much better area for both the patients and the nurses to use.
As part of this project we doubled the size of the gym by knocking a wall down and expanding the original room. We also installed acoustic flooring and walls.
2019 has been a great year for our team who have not only gone above and beyond to finish the projects to an excellent standard but have also worked hard on their own personal development. Jordan Daley received a promotion to Senior Project Manager earlier in the year and completed his PRINCE2 with flying colours!
In the summer we welcomed Alice Escott into the office as Marketing and Sales Coordinator. Alongside producing all of the marketing material she is also working towards completing a qualification in Digital Marketing.
The most notable change that Hughes Escott underwent in 2019 is a whole re-brand. We worked with Gel Studios to create a modern and professional updated brand identity to better represent the business and our culture as it is today.
For us here at Hughes Escott Ltd, this is about bringing forward the next generation and using our 40 years’ experience to continue with our excellent customer service and personal approach to each project. It represents the high quality and individual solutions that we provide to each and every customer to help them #createtomorrowsworkspacetoday.
The re-brand has meant that we have updated our social media channels, uniform, site boards and everything else in-between. We have also given our own office a face lift to match our new branding and have had a new sign and window graphics installed by Aura Signs.
We wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year from all the team at Hughes Escott. We look forward to 2020 and continuing to work with some amazing people!
